With a simple shift of perspective, taking the position of an „Artificial Friend“ with limited understanding of life, Ishiguro creates a fresh view looking at humans and human emotions. He uses simple sentences and basic observations, but manages to generate a certain pull and curiosity.  The outline of the novel, as far as visible now, may raise some (critical) questions ; but that at this stage shows primarily the quality of „Klara and the Sun“ to engage the reader.
